World Democracy Status

South korea kicks back with hot air
human rights activists have been launching hot air ballons off the coast.
The ballons are  filled with leaflets timed to explode over the north. in the bid to spread knowlege amongst the people.
Which begs the question how do you make one? As it's such an excellent idea for speading knowlege to the people. If anyone knows, let us know, and we will put a guide together...
This is an attempt to build a database of the "elected" governments around the world, to see if they fulfil the criteria of democracy. to maintan a democratic status the elected leader and the elected parliment must both maintain a majorit vote of 51% of the population. failure to maintain that, puts it as risk, and low numbers perhaps indicate a need of major reform, or intervention on the part of the un. so where does britian fair, with declining voting numbers, the abilitly to vote ron, and a prime minister which isn't elected by the nation at hand. obviously we don't even come anywhere near the democaratic selection criteria, but how low do we really fall, compared to other "deomocracies", and more important totalitarian regiemes.

*children are counted in the population figures, as frankly they have as just as many rights, and in most cases more common sense then most senior(s)! so with that i would move the voting age to 12, and give their legal guaridans the proxy vote upto that age. this represents the future, and teaches parents the grave responsibility they have in electing government, and yes it would be legally acceptable to assign a proxy vote, if in the event of a medical emergancy you became incapacitated. one life, one vote it's that simple, democracy in action.

Country Population election dateNumber vote for leaderleader name election date number voted for controling partyparty name democracy status

UK   2005  population 60776238,  electorate: 44,245,939 of whom 27,148,510 votes were cast. labour got 36% thats only 16.2% of the population who voted this government. we have no ron.

IRAQ 2002 population 24246 000 ,11,445,638 for husain (47% of the population) he was the only candidate...

now we vote on legislation to remove, people's freedoms, this is worse then hitler, we need democracy, and to make matters worse. i get a "choice" twiddle dee" or twiddle dum" i'm reliably informed a vote for any other candiate is a wased vote, its a joke. what's worse i've not even calculated the number who voted the executive in, thats in charge of sitting on the council of europe, and passing in eu directives, we need a person who  has 51% backing or no one at all...

my queen, as a loyal subject i most humbly beseach you to take action of this flagrent breach of freedom, and move now to veto any bill coming from this illegitatamte house, with your guidence, we could restore a house which has the support and the backing of the people, 51% of the population must have voted any government going in, and any leader who stands before the european council and votes as given...

the time for change has come, and i am one subject who would happily raise my sword and stand for freedom at your side, if you desire it...  so to all those who care about freeom, liberty and democracy i suggest you wake up and read the law, and see for yourselves, how its going down the toilet at the hands of these uncith ruffians, who seem to have no care for democracy, just hypocrisy, fear and silence which isn't  the british way of doing things, so bring it on, and vote for life, truth honesty and openess..

we must restore the sepernatio of powers, and along with it the democracy deficit, so we get freedom as the people of europe deserve, so with that note, i give you new labout and the fascist red, as i salute gorden brown, and spit on their honour, tony blair and the rest have eroded the country and turned it into a joke, they have shown scorn and lack honour, respect or anything else.... woe betide any man who women, to trys to pass that house off as the legitamte voice of the people of britian, 16% isnt legitamte, and  how many for the  unelected leader? 1%? did it even make it that far....was the vote more then a person? did anyone vote him in? who knew.... totalitarian regimes have come and gone, and the pigs have walked straight up to downing street and taken office, and the british police never barked a whisper, irony that the only thing which saves us  is our european cousins, who may be able to stop this tyranny from becoming a threat to the lives of the people, fr it is them and the charter of fundermental rights which stands in the path of the guilinetine, and revolution in this mists of time.

perhaps its time to bring the royalists back, and some common sense in speaking our minds!  personaly i think jeferson would have stormed parliment now, at the very least it should be in all the papers.. ahh tom paine where are you, when your country needs you, the rest are in shackles, locked away, moderated and censored to death, and that is all it needs to destroy liberty and democracy the silencing of the opposition,  which has been achieved so amacably by the bbc, all that fear and no one says anything, where is spitting image, where is the satire? where is the controversy? where are the challenges, the dog has been whipped, and the yoke is tamed.

In the meantime I appologise getting hold of raw stats is harder then it looks, ironic isn't it, - so much for the freedom of information, if you have the numbers - please give generously.  the one's i've seen discount most of the population already, and we are liable to assume too much, so easy to forget about the voices, in the world when we remove them, article 10 we all deserve to be heard no matter what happens next.
